What’s My Story?

I’ve been a professional freelance writer for over 10 years, but I’ve been wielding the power of words much longer than that: before I was a writer, I was a lawyer.

After graduating from Stanford Law School, I practiced law for seven years as a litigation attorney at two major corporate law firms, in New York City and in Paris, France.

My legal training uniquely prepared me for a career as a professional copywriter. As a litigator, I learned that everyone – everyone – has a story that can be made compelling. See, lawyers are taught to probe deeply into a subject to unearth details and nuances that most people overlook. We are taught to cull facts, figures, and data from all appropriate sources to craft an effective narrative. We are taught to write in a clear, persuasive style.

These skills have been invaluable in my writing career. Clients love it. And I love that I’ve been able to transfer these skills to help businesses grow.

What are my specialties?

Naturally my clients have frequently included law firms, legal marketing companies, and companies producing legal-related products. I’ve written over a hundred pages of law firm web content, as well as blog posts, attorney bios, sales letters, and more.
